  • We're an innovative intergenerational childcare facility located at Brookridge, bringing together children and senior residents in meaningful ways. Our model creates enriching experiences where children learn from older adults through planned activities, while seniors benefit from the energy and joy children bring.

  • The Center for Thriving Children is a comprehensive early childhood education program, not just childcare. We use The Creative Curriculum®, a research-based framework that promotes child development through intentional teaching and hands-on learning experiences. Our highly certified teachers create rich learning environments where children develop cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language skills through purposeful play and structured activities.

We maintain exceptionally low student-to-instructor ratios that allow our teachers to provide individualized attention and tailor learning to each child's developmental needs. This combination of evidence-based curriculum, qualified educators, and small group sizes ensures that every child receives high-quality early education that prepares them for kindergarten and beyond.

About the Center for Thriving Children

  • The Center focuses on fostering social and emotional development through its proprietary curriculum, which includes activities that promote empathy, self-regulation, and social skills. The center's environment encourages positive interactions, problem-solving, and emotional expression, helping children build strong, healthy relationships.

  • Each classroom is equipped with a handheld device.

Technology is seamlessly integrated into the curriculum through digital learning tools. These resources are used to enhance learning, engage children in interactive lessons, and introduce them to real-world, hands-on learning opportunities, and 21st Century skills.
  • We are proud to use the nationally-recognized, award-winning Creative Curriculum® in our early learning classrooms. Creative Curriculum® is one of the few curriculums approved by every State Department of Education in the country!
  • We have many reasons, starting with our approach to early childhood education that focuses on curriculum that develops the "whole child.”

This means that in addition to meeting educational standards, our program emphasizes the development of social skills, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities.

Safety & Licensing

  • Parents are kept informed through the use of a secure, parent communication app called “ Procare.” This app provides everyday photos of your little one, notifications about your child’s care and activities, and monthly newsletter and calendar events, ensuring parents are always connected and informed about their child's day.

  • We take every precaution to ensure that children with food allergies are safe and well-cared for in our center. Open communication with parents/guardians, thorough documentation, and a commitment to providing alternatives when necessary are key components of our approach.

    Notification and Documentation:

    • Each enrollment year and during transitions to new classrooms, parents/guardians are required to indicate any medical conditions or allergies, including food allergies, on the Personal Care Plan.

    • It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to promptly notify Center Management of any changes or new allergies that arise throughout the year.

    • All medical conditions and allergies are discussed verbally with parents/guardians and thoroughly documented.

    Staff Awareness:

    • Our staff is fully aware of all children with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or preferences in their respective classrooms.

    Menu and Allergens:

    • We maintain a nut-free facility and do not serve any products containing nuts, nut products, or other common allergens like eggs.

    • Menus are carefully crafted to avoid foods associated with choking hazards, ensuring child safety.

    • Alternatives are provided for children with allergies or food restrictions if our center offers snacks and/or lunch.

    • Food product labels are diligently checked to ensure they do not contain nuts.

    Special Diets:

    • Children with special diets, whether due to allergies, cultural or religious practices, or other reasons, have meals and snacks prepared and sent from home.

    • They may only be served "special occasion food" if provided by their parents/guardians.

    • Children on special diets must have a physician's diet order and an Alternate Nutrition Agreement on file at the center.

    Documentation and Lists:

    • Children with food restrictions or preferences are listed on the center's Medical List, posted in the kitchen and their respective classrooms.

    • Dietary preferences are recorded.
